About this deal
The more cores a CPU has, the more applications you can run simultaneously without noticing a performance impact. This article evaluates Intel's Core i7-13700F desktop CPU. We evaluated Intel's Core i7-13700F and compared it to others to determine which provides the best value as a gaming CPU. We shaped our testing methodology to focus on each CPU's attributes rather than solely on benchmarks. If you're worried about the TOUGHAIR 510 taking up too much space in your system, Thermaltake offers a few single-fan variants that use different orientations, so you can choose the one that works best for your setup. I found that the dual 120 mm fans on the TOUGHAIR 510 did an excellent job of keeping an LGA 1700 CPU cool, even under heavy workloads.
The Intel Core i7-13700K's 8 Performance cores have a 3.40 GHz base frequency and support a 5.30 GHz max turbo boost frequency. I was very impressed with the cooling capability of the Enermax Liqmax III 360, which boasts an excellent 360-watt TDP (Thermal Design Power). Intel has increased its DDR5 memory support up to 5600 MT/s if you use one DIMM per channel (1DPC), a big increase over the prior 4800 MT/s speed with Alder Lake. Just as importantly, Intel increased 2DPC speeds up to 4400 MT/s, an improvement over the previous-gen 3600 MT/s. Unlike AMD's all-in approach with DDR5, Raptor Lake also supports DDR4-3200 memory, ensuring a value option for Intel platforms. With a TDP of 65 W, the Core i7-13700F consumes typical power levels for a modern PC. Intel's processor supports DDR4 and DDR5 memory with a dual-channel interface. For communication with other components in the machine, Core i7-13700F uses a PCI-Express Gen 5 connection. This processor does not have integrated graphics, you will need a separate graphics card.
Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics only: to use the Intel® Iris® Xe brand, the system must be populated with 128-bit (dual channel) memory. Otherwise, use the Intel® UHD brand. The quiet operation of the cooler made for a more comfortable and distraction-free computing experience. Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i7-13700 CPU for professional tools, you can expect excellent tool performance with a high-performance CPU cooler.

Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i7-13700K CPU for professional tools, you can expect excellent tool performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i7-13700 CPU for gaming, you can expect excellent game performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. Based on our evaluation, the 13700F's 5.10 GHz max turbo boost frequency of the Performance cores is excellent for performance with the latest graphics-intense games. P-core turbo boost frequencies can be maintained with a high-end cooler. Office and web applications rarely max out the CPU for long periods. These applications can use turbo boost speeds when a burst of processing power is needed, returning to the more efficient base frequencies afterward.
